Kosher Foods in the Dining Halls

The following is a list of products in the Harvard Dining Halls that are kosher, based on a thorough check of HUDS’ storerooms on September 18, 2006.

Please contact Rav Ben Greenberg with any specific product queries.

If something appears on this list it means that it is also served in a way that does not create a kashrut problem. For example, the plain tuna served in the salad bars, goes directly from the can into the salad bar.

There are additional items in the HUDS kitchens that may contain kosher symbols, such as canned cherries, yogurt, and salsa, but the same supplier is not always used for these items. For that matter, the list below does not guarantee that the same supplier is always going to be used for the items listed. HUDS has said that students can go back to the kitchen to examine products when they wish.

  • Peanut Butter (organic and regular)
  • Non-sliced Cold Hard Boil Eggs (you can ask the dining hall staff to retrieve you a non-sliced egg from the refrigerator)
  • Soft Ice Cream and the Frozen Yogurt (from the ice cream dispensers)
  • Ice Cream Cones
  • Sour Cream
  • All breads that either have a KVH or Chaf-K symbol on the bag
