About the Minyan
The Reform minyan is a student-run community that brings together undergraduates, graduate students, and members of the Cambridge community for services on Friday evenings throughout the academic year, many Saturday mornings, and on Jewish holidays. Our undergraduate-led services use a mix of English and Hebrew from the Reform Movement's new prayer book, Mishkan T'filah, and feature lively and often guitar-led singing as well as provocative discussions of the weekly Torah portion.
In addition to services, we also get together for social events, such as Havdalah on Saturday evenings, movie nights, and special Shabbat dinners (most weeks, we eat with all of Hillel), and meet together and with our rabbinic advisor to learn from one another.
If you want to, you could lead services, give a D'var Torah or lead a discussion, host a social event, or whatever else you would like—since the minyan is student-led, you're invited to share your own ideas for things we could be doing. Please don't be shy; send us an email just to introduce yourself.
