Orthodox Minyan

The Harvard Hillel Orthodox Minyan brings together undergraduates, graduate students and local community members in a vibrant community. We hold services twice every day, all year long, and provide kiddush and seudah shilishit (third meal) on Shabbat. The minyan encourages broad participation in davening (praying) and laining (reading Torah), so please contact our gabbaim if you're interested in leading or just improving your skills. The current President of OSM (Orthodox Student Minyan) is Ronit Malka (ronitmalka@college.harvard.edu.)  She can answer questions for any prospective students, and also find a place for any undergraduates or prospective students who would like to spend a Shabbat at Harvard Hillel. If you would like to get involved in any of the services, please email Ronit.

Tzedakah (Charity) Committee

Tzedakah, charity, is an important Jewish value. The tzedakah committee is responsible for collecting and distributing tzedakah. Jerry Zuriff chairs the committee. The tzedakah box is located in the back of Beren at all services, except on Shabbat and holidays.

Home Hospitality

Hachnasat Orchim, welcoming guests, is an attribute highly valued by our minyan. Many members of our minyan welcome the opportunity to host guests at our Shabbat and holiday meals. We can also arrange overnight stays. If you would like to accept or extend an invitation to a Shabbat or holiday meal, please contact Shoshana Rosenberg (shosh81@gmail.com)

Summer Students: If you are interested in home hospitality, either for a place to stay or for Shabbat meals, please fill out our home hospitality request form and our Home Hospitality Coordinator, Estie Reidler, will be in touch with you.
