Come hear from Ilana Kurshan, Harvard alum and author of If All the Seas Were Ink. The book will be available for purchase at the event. This event is open to the Hillel and Cambridge community. At the age of 27, Ilana Kurshan found herself alone in Jerusalem, reeling in the wake of a painful divorce and struggling to find balance and perspective in a foreign land. On the suggestion of a friend, she began learning daf yomi, Hebrew for “daily page,” reading a page of the Talmud a day as part of the world’s largest book club. By the time she completed the Talmud after seven and a half years, Kurshan was remarried with three young children. Her story of those years is a tale of heartache and humor, of love and loss, of marriage and motherhood, and of learning to put one foot in front of the other by turning page after page.
