The High Holidays are a time in the Jewish calendar for spiritual renewal and starting afresh. Rosh Hashanah kicks off the New Year with introspection and sweet hopes. Ten days later comes Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, for deep reflection and forgiveness-seeking. We welcome all of Harvard to join Hillel in celebrating the High Holidays this October!

Services & Holiday Meals
All of Hillel’s High Holiday services and holiday meals are free for current Harvard students.
You do not need to sign up or register.
All meals will be in the Hillel Dining Hall (52 Mt. Auburn St.)

Tashlich and Shofar
Tashlich is a ceremony during the High Holidays where Jews symbolically “cast off ” their sins into a body of water. The shofar, an instrument made from a ram’s horn, is traditionally blown during the High Holidays. Hillel is hosting a community tashlich and shofar blowing at 3:30 pm on the second day of Rosh HaShanah (Sunday, September 13). All are welcome!
