The People’s Plate: Meet the Artist
Following the previous night’s celebration, the community gathered in the Science Center Plaza on March 24 for an intimate “Meet the Artist” morning.
Under the morning sun and alongside the newly installed nine-foot sculpture, dozens of students, chaplains, university staff, and curious passersby stopped to engage directly with artist Michael Mittelman. Over hot coffee and pastries, the artist shared the stories behind the installation’s panels—each representing a unique thread of Jewish identity and belonging at Harvard—while neighbors and colleagues connected through shared conversation and art.
